I have the letter. Stating this.
The union stood by whilst staff were beaten down. The reveiws of the jobs were laughable.
As for lack of understanding the TGWU sold me down the river some years ago when was made redundant. Thet efused tyo help me while Bill Morris and his family lined their nests with the money i paid in.
Unions are crap a bunch of malcontents feathering their own nests.
In fact my partner does not belong to a union on priciple but when she went to sign the agreement and gey her paltry payment a union official stood ver the staff to get them to sign of course i dont understand the union position all i know is the staff signed under protest. :flush:

You do not have a letter saying that your wife would be fired. You seem to read what you want to read not what the paperwork actually says. If Unions are a "crap bunch of malcontents" why do you subscribe to this forum? None of the Trade Union officials stood over the staff to get them to sign - that is a blatant lie and should be withdrawn. You do not work for the Council, your wife does but is not a Union member "on a point of principle" but is happy to accept the pay rises and other terms and conditions that the Unions negotiate. Your wife as anon union member did not have any say in the matter as to whether Single Status would be accepted or not, only members of GNB, UNISON and UNITE had that right, so why are you peddling these stories?

Some unions are negotiating away their members pay and conditions, thewelshman.

I used to hate freeriders. Nowadays, I can sympathise with workers who see the unions surrendering pay and conditions and mounting only half-hearted pay campaigns resulting in sub-inflation pay rises. That while the union leaders enjoy generous pay, pension and expenses packages. That while the unions continue to bankroll a government which attacks their pay and pensions. I've been a union member for 40+ years and I'm now a retired member of Unite. If I were starting over now, I would seriously consider joining a 'union' of workers contributing to group legal insurance instead of joining a traditional union.

OK so the unions dis a number on the staff in Dumfries and Galoway. They have now had the hours cut here and there to make up the rise the negotiated some of the lower paid staff are now on less money than before the settlement. As i said the unions sold the staff out. One lady we know is £200 a year worse off. as she will lose her enacments for SAT SUN and as she only works part time she will hve to work another 15 hours before she gets overtime. Union Officials And Council Solictors stood over these members of staff while the signed the contracts. Unions i would not give them house room

Are you on drugs? You keep peddling this rubbish about Union officials and solixitors standing over people while they signed contracts. That is an out and out lie, and you seem to think that the more you say it perhaps people will believe you. May I suggest Jackanory? It bears more resemblance to real life than anything you've written on here.

And still after all this time the lower paid workers in Dumfries and Galloway have not had the setlement. Moved the workers to monthly pay. One member of staff id owed a thousand pounds but will not get any payments now until july. It is a shambles here. By the way i do know what happened at the meeting. there were union officials and solicitors standing by to make sure the staff signed. The letter stated that if the staff did not accept the deal they would be paid off and have to reapply for theie jobs with no gaurantee of getting them. I was there when this happened and i also saw the letters my wife got. The rise the got is not worth talking about as i said hours have been cut so that they are no better off,

Peddling lies again. Here's something for you....As this website is only viewed by a small number of people, why do you not put your pen to paper and write to the Dumfries and Galloway Standard, but don't forget to have your name and address on the letter, stating "the truth" as you see it? You're an out and out liar with your tales of solicitors and union officials, and it's shameful that you still have the opportunity to do so under a pseudonym, but that's what internet bullies do, isn't it? Get a life............

The letter my partner received stated if the agreement was not accepted then they the workers would be paid off and have to reapply for their jobs under the new contract. All staff had to go to various places in Dumfries and Galloway to sign new contracts and were paid sums of money in compemsation for the years of underpayment. They have still not received the final payments which were due at Christmas. The have had hours cut to compensate for the rise in wages. I wrote to the standard and galloway news months ago and one paper did publish my letter.so there ya go. I also spoke to Rusell Brown at one stage but then like all labour mps he is only worried about himself.
As you seem to have taken a personal dislike to me i will make you happy and no longer post on here.
Bye Bye everbody Bye Bye. watch you dony get a coal pick in your back
