I have given Labour Union Digest a long overdue and much needed software upgrade. The previous software, whilst functioning adequately most of the time , was becoming rapidly outdated and no new versions were on the horizon.

I have chosen Joomla, an open source CMS website system, to create the new site. It is a comprehensive and versatile package which looks very customizable. There seems to be a solid and reliable support system, something lacking with the previous software, and updates appear regularly. I hope it proves more user friendly and navigable for visitors thus enhancing the sites appeal.

Most of the old site content is available on the new site. What is missing will soon be back in place as I am still in the process of building the new site.
